10 months old

Height: 29 inches (.5 in growth)

Weight: 17 lbs 9 oz (2 oz gain)

Diaper size: Still cloth diapers and a size 3 in disposables!

Clothing size: she was still in 6-9, 6-12, and 9 month clothes. SO BORING.

Nicknames: Miss E, Miss Priss, Baby girl, mama

Sleep: she wakes up with me at 7 am, naps on the way to and from fit4mom (20-30 minute naps), and takes a long nap around 2 pm. Then she goes to bed at 8 pm typically. She did get better about sleeping through the night, which I was so worried she wouldn't last month!

Medical issues: STILL no teeth!! She chews on her hands and her teethers all the time, but nothing! Other than that, she really hasn't had any medical issues this month!

Diet: Evelyn is still mainly breastfed, and still loves her solids. She loves nursing and eating! Such a healthy girl.

Milestones: Evelyn is still mostly crawling, but she has started to try and inch around on furniture. I put her up to a walker and she took a couple steps and when WHOOPS, she fell backwards. There's a really funny video of this. She learned to clap along to music or patty cake, but she still likes clapping my hands for patty cake the best. Also, she learned to turn the pages in her books by herself, so now she reads to herself all the time!

Likes: Peek-a-boo, giving and getting kisses, moving ALL the time, chewing on things, naps, cuddles, spoons, swinging, hiding under blankets, being tickled, BUBBLES, being SCARED, playing with friends

Dislikes: being woken up before she's ready, being hungry, mommy not feeding her fast enough, mommy not getting ready for bed fast enough, the doctor, shots, mommy leaving the room, people eating in front of her, short naps, mommy tutoring

Firsts: Evelyn went to her first golf tournament! It was not fun for any of us. Evelyn wanted to crawl down the hill and steal people's beer and it was humid and muggy and just miserable. About halfway through, I got up with her, stuck her in the Tula and nursed her to sleep. We were standing on 18 and it was MUCH cooler and calmer there. We learned our lesson and did not take her to the colonial when it was time!

We went to the water gardens for the first time with some friends! This all happened because we were supposed to get on the TRE at 10:45 but we all got lost and the train left us. So we went to the water gardens. Then got on the next train and went to the Dallas fair park children's aquarium. It is so lame; don't go.

We took E swimming for the first time! The water was so cold so we didn't stay very long. Poor baby was turning a little blue! But she really loved the water! Mom and dad finally got out of school so we got to play with them a lot! Also, E started swimming lessons. She hates floating on her back. We went to the splash pad for the first time and that was quite fun!

Last but not least, Evelyn celebrated her first Father's Day with daddy and Joe Mo. We went out to brunch at Rio Mambo, then Joe Mo and MamaD went off on vacation while Mike, Evelyn and I went to mom and dad's house to watch golf. While there, Evelyn banged her head on the ottoman and got her first goose egg!

Baby gear we love: Evelyn loves her Tula. She also now likes the stroller, after being in it lots for stroller strides. She is fascinated with bowls and spoons. Of course, we could not live without her pool floatie!!

Things To Remember: I always want to remember the way she turns and finds me in the morning, as if making sure I'm still there. The way her whole face lights up when she sees me. The way she calms down when she sees me in the mirror when she's upset in the car. I love being her whole world. I am so blessed to be her mommy. (This is from last month, but it's so true and makes my heart so happy.)

Visiting the Perot with our friends! Here she is dressed up as a camp ranger doing a cookout!

"Mom, did you save any for me?"

"Seriously, mom, you have a sharing problem."

Sometimes bedtime calls for the whole bottle of teething tablets. And a hat. Always a hat.

Finally on the train to the aquarium!

After surviving the day from hell to the aquarium and back. Notice even Kennedy is pretending to be asleep!!

Celebrity!

She was NOT a fan.

I love this precious little baby!

Big girl!!

Taking a nap on Joemo while MamaD and I cooked!

All the celery!!!

Trying to keep warm after her first time swimming.

Taste of Dallas selfie!

Contemplating why the pool is so darn cold!

She was terrified of this alligator when we went to the zoo with friends!

9 months old

Height: 28.5 inches (.5 in growth)

Weight: 17 lbs 7 oz (3 oz gain)

Diaper size: Still cloth diapers and a size 3 in disposables!

Clothing size: she still fits in 6 months, but I pulled out her 6-9, 6-12, and 9 month clothes. Then she flew threw them. Now I'm bored again. So we bought some more. We'll see how this goes. She's not growing very fast!

Lately she's been making me CRAZY and waking up all night long to nurse. It's so aggravating but everyone says it's developmental and will get better soon, so I am holding out hope.

Medical issues: STILL no teeth!! She chews on her hands and her teethers all the time, but nothing! Other than that, she really hasn't had any medical issues this month!

Diet: Evelyn is still mainly breastfed, and still loves her solids. She is eating a lot more solids lately, and I think she would probably eat more if I let her. She LOVES food! She also loves her milk.

Milestones: Evelyn is now pulling up on things! She doesn't like to do one milestone for very long before she is moving on to the next. I blame Kennedy and Jovie for this. She is always trying to keep up with them! She is a super fast crawler and basically never does her army crawl anymore. She added two new words to her vocabulary, "woof" and "hey".  She also learned how to clap!

She purposefully blows raspberries on you and she also learned how to stick out her tongue. She's a great mimic, so whenever daddy sticks out his tongue and blows, she will do it back. The two of them are hysterical together. OH and she learned how to go from crawling to sitting up! That took a LONG time to get used to. I would put her on her tummy and turn away and I would be SO CONFUSED when she was sitting up on her own! She also started dancing, which is really more like head banging. SO funny.

Likes: Peek-a-boo, giving and getting kisses, moving ALL the time, chewing on things, naps, cuddles, spoons, swinging, hiding under blankets, being tickled, BUBBLES, being SCARED - like jump out of your skin scared...she definitely didn't get that from me!

Dislikes: being woken up before she's ready, being hungry, mommy not feeding her fast enough, mommy not getting ready for bed fast enough, the doctor, shots, mommy leaving the room, people eating in front of her, short naps, mommy tutoring

Firsts: Evelyn had her first sleepover with Jovie! It was way harder on me than them, but I guess that's how sleepovers go. We went to Dove Park for the first time with our playgroup and that was super fun! We had a neighborhood party and Evelyn really enjoyed that compared to the Easter egg hunt! She also got to try a lemon chill for the first time and she thought that was the greatest treat ever! We went to our first Fit4Mom class and fell IN LOVE. Well, I did. I am still working with Evelyn on surviving an hour in the stroller. Seriously, it's an hour. Whatever.

We celebrated our first Mother's Day as a family of three. It was so special to be recognized as a mother with a living child. I held her extra close that day and appreciated a Mother's Day without tears.

We went swimming for the first time and she LOVED it. Of course, she loves bath time, so it wasn't really a surprise that she would like the pool. We also went to our first outdoor concert with Leslie and Violet and daddy. She did a great job even though we stayed up past her bedtime and she danced to the music. Evelyn FINALLY made it to the zoo!! She made a stinky face the entire time, and I think she enjoyed looking at fences and waterfalls more than the animals, but I really enjoyed it and I was glad we got to go for the first time as a family.

Baby gear we love: Evelyn still likes noisy toys and keys. She also likes to play with anything she can pull up on, so we bought a cube from Sarah that she loves. It also has doors that open and close and she likes to play with those. She really finds almost anything to be a toy, so she's pretty easy to entertain! She likes her stroller and going on walks (as long as she is moving the whole time). Evelyn has also started to show interest in her taggie blanket!

Things To Remember: I always want to remember the way she turns and finds me in the morning, as if making sure I'm still there. The way her whole face lights up when she sees me. The way she calms down when she sees me in the mirror when she's upset in the car. I love being her whole world. I am so blessed to be her mommy.

Chewing on baby dolls at Kennedy's house!

She loves this little ride on toy at Jovie's

This was when Evelyn first started pulling up on things. What a great helper she will be one day!

First successful transfer from my back. I felt like a rockstar!

Clearly she is ready to go. I thought I had 15 more years before I had to worry about the baby on the road!

Playing in the bounce house at Hudson's first birthday party. She loves to make this stinky face.

Eight months old!

Height:

Weight: 17 lbs 4 oz (1/2 lb gain)

Diaper size: Still cloth diapers and a size 3 in disposables!

Clothing size: she still fits in 6 months, but I went ahead and pulled out her 6-9, 6-12, and 9 month clothes so she would have more options hahaha.

Nicknames: Miss E, Miss Priss, Baby girl, mama

Sleep: once upon a time I read that at 4 months, Evelyn would cut out her fourth nap. Well, at 8 months I think she's finally done it!! She takes short naps at 9 and 12 and a long nap at 2. She's usually asleep by 8:30 (8 on a perfect night) and wakes up a few times a night to nurse. I refuse to transfer her to a crib until she is sleeping through the night. I basically sleep through her nursing and I can't imagine getting out of bed to nurse. I wouldn't get any sleep!!

Medical issues: STILL no teeth!! She chews on her hands and her teethers all the time, but nothing!

This month Evelyn got a stomach bug for the THIRD TIME in five months. What the heck, kid??? One downside to cosleeping is vomit in your hair. Okay, I think that's just a downside to parenting. I was nursing Evelyn, then she was laying on my tummy and next thing I know she is throwing up all over me!! This happened two more times. I took four showers in a 24 hour period. Ugh.

Diet: Evelyn is still mainly breastfed, and still loves her solids. She gets so mad if we eat in front of her and don't share. When we eat out I have to carefully consider what I order to make sure there is something Evelyn can eat. Luckily she loves tomatoes and I hate them, so she takes care of that for me!

Milestones: the baby is officially crawling!! She started about a week ago. At first, you could tell it was taking so much brain power. She would move one hand, then the next. Then the left leg....then she would lift her right leg and freeze. It would take her a moment to figure out what to do next. It was so funny!! Now she's much more fluid and gaining speed, though if she really wants to go dash, she just scoots around!

Evelyn said dada! She's said it a few times but we're still not sure she 100% knows what dada means. We DO know that she is now waving! She wakes up, sees me and starts waving! When you say hi, she waves! When she sees someone new, she waves! I feel like this makes her super advanced, my mom does not. Well, I decided my opinion matters more haha.

She also learned how to crawl up stairs! She's only able to do it on carpeted stairs, but she definitely crawled up two stairs at Jovie's house and laughed the whole way up.

Likes: Peek-a-boo, giving and getting kisses, being able to crawl, chewing on things, naps, cuddles, spoons, swinging, hiding under blankets, being tickled, BUBBLES, being SCARED - like jump out of your skin scared...she definitely didn't get that from me!

Dislikes: being woken up before she's ready, being hungry, mommy not feeding her fast enough, mommy not getting ready for bed fast enough, the doctor, shots, mommy leaving the room, people eating in front of her, short naps, mommy tutoring

Firsts: Evelyn was supposed to go to the zoo for the first time this month but that still hasn't happened. Sigh. Other than that, she has a pretty exciting month! Evelyn went to her first bunny petting zoo! She liked it until Jovie got upset, then she started crying. We only got three minutes with the bunnies but both girls were so distraught that we left early haha! She also got to meet the Easter bunny that day; she was fascinated by him! We had an Easter party at Sarah's house and made Easter crafts. Adorable! And Evelyn went to her first Easter egg hunt. It was during nap time and she hated it. Enough said.

Of course, Evelyn celebrated her first Easter at compass Roanoke! It was held in a tent on the land where the building will be built this year! Such a neat experience. She had her first trip to the Fort Worth science and history museum, which was fun. We didn't get to dig for dinosaurs, so we definitely need to do that next time. We also went to steel city pops and Evelyn got her first taste of popsicle, yum!

I tandem wore Jovie and Evelyn for the first time when both girls decided to meltdown at the same time! And we went to the Happy Lark for the first time. This was so fun! It's a neat little store and play place down by hulen mall. We got to meet the baby guy at an event, which was super exciting for me haha. We played at White's Chapel for the first time and went to new story times at the Roanoke and Watauga libraries! Holy crap we did a lot of new things this month!!

Baby gear we love: Evelyn likes toys with mirrors and toys that make sounds. We still love our Tula and Beco. She is obsessed with keys and cries if I take mine away, so mom bought her a pair of her own keys. They're pretty realistic so it's slightly less traumatic to take away my keys as long as she has her replacement. She also likes her new toy that has compartments she can open and close. And she loves playing with calculators and computers and pretending to do work like a grown up.

Things To Remember: Evelyn is the happiest and most cuddly baby. I love snuggling up to her and seeing her smile. I wish she would always love us as much as she does now. It's so hard to imagine her growing up, but she is getting so big so quickly! I love watching her grow and learn; you can literally see her brain working. I am so blessed by this baby. She is perfect and exactly what we needed.

Monthly photo dump!

Evelyn was making the best faces this day.

Intrigued by the Easter bunny!

This bow is life.

Serious baby at work.

Our early morning on Easter called for coffee. (Evelyn gets her own empty coffee cup when we're at church so she doesn't PANIC over her intense desire to drink whatever we are drinking)

See above photo...Easter margaritas...Evelyn HAD to have one. Hahaha

Easter goodies!

How many babies can you fit on one swing?? Me, Abigail, Evelyn and Kennedy!

These were my pjs when I was a baby!!
